Literacy for a billion with Bollywood songs

Literacy for a billion with Bollywood songs
PlanetRead uses the power and reach of entertainment to fill the need for education. In India, Bollywood songs appear on national television - Doordarshan with PlanetRead’s Same Language Subtitling (SLS). This provides automatic reading practice to 300 million early literates. With SLS the viewers subconsciously associate the songs with the text, so the familiar lyrics on screen reinforce their literacy skills.

HELP : Omm Shree Shree Maa Adyasakti Dakhineswar Kali Temple at Mathasahi, Bhadrak In Orissa

This is a humble appeal to all believers, charitable institutions, NRIs, Trusts, Corporate Houses and all the citizens of the world to render some financial aid for the completion of the holy task of the construction of Omm Shree Shree Maa Adyasakti Dakhineswar Kali Temple near Bus-stand at Mathasahi, Bhadrak in the state of Orissa (India). In the year 2002 the construction of the temple of Maa Adyasakti Dakhineswar Kali was started. And in subsequent years our organization has spent a sum of rupees 20,00,000 (20lakhs) for the construction of the main temple from collecting donations from different devotees and well wishers.

As now the temple is in final stage, we require some financial help for the completion. Our organization is registered under Societies Registration Act. Vide Regd. No.-1797-40 of 2005. Your donation money will be spent for the noble purpose of construction of the temple of deity “Maa Kali”.

Though the work is almost complete, marble flooring & walling (interior & outside), granite work and other finishing works remain unfinished. This sacred temple measuring 78ft. high, 52ft. long and 44ft. wide dedicated to the glory of Shree Shree Dakhineswar Kali Temple. For this and other ancillary works, fund is sorely necessary and hence this humble appeal to all conscientious people.

The committee set up to look into the execution and completion of the work would feel highly obliged to receive financial aid from all quarters across the world, and help received will be gratefully acknowledged.

All generous financial help may kindly be sent to:

    "Awakening" empowers rural India

Intel started participating $100 PC for a child program.

"A desire for technology access exists in remote rural communities in India." this is absolutely true. I will definitely put some money for this program and promote others too.

80/20 rule to keep customers happy

There is a nice article about this topic.I a big follower of this rule. This make more if you use this in your day to day life.

    Why should you care?

The 80/20 rule means that if you can define your critical few customers and target marketing directly to their needs, it's likely to pay off big time. The cost of acquiring new customers, according to many surveys, runs 8 to 10 times more than the cost of keeping existing ones. So you get a stronger return on your marketing dollars and better sales by focusing on 20% or so of your top-tier prospects. Usually, that requires three steps:

Identify and characterize your key customers.

Target messages in suitable media to hit nerves among the important customer segments.

Build in a payoff that rewards customers for giving you time and attention.

Here's how to stay connected to customers who count.
