Hi Everybody, It is nice to see a blog running onm Orissa. I working in Denmark Copenhagen.
I sincerely believe that we are the part of the new Orissa which is happening.
Mindtree is coming to bhubaneswar.
Satyam, Wipro,Infosys,TCs , Kanbay are already there.
We have the key manufacturing companies coming to Orissa now.
POSCO,Arcelor,Tata steel etc, are the names we can think of.
The idea is to be able to leapfrog by technological advancements.
1.Good roads
2. Good communications.
3.Possibly good transport systems
These are the keys to success

Hi,
Mr. Balasubramaniam. Can you please send a writeup on the list of ecotourisum places ?
We could have a website which could connect to the tourisum website of orissa.
Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi friends, happy to share your endeavour.
I am responding to rakeshbabu's happyness about MNCs reaching Orissa. We are also happy that Orissa is in limelight. But We will also have to take care of our resources like forests, water bodies, mines and agriculture. Its a matter of concern that temperature is rising at an alarming speed in orissa.People dying of sunstroke is nomore news to us.Erratic rain for lack of forest cover, migration for lack of agricultural option and above all lack of any sustainable developmental debate in the ruling dispension has caused a great deal of unrest in Orissa.Hence while welcoming industrialisation of Orissa I request everybody to be visilant about future implications and provide proper perspective to the present developmental models.

Hi,
I sincerely appreciate the efforts of all in making of this site
Firstly we oriyas need to shed
the inferiority complex we posesses.Orissa is known outside mainly for its poverty and this is thanks to the media ,although not without reason. But they also fail to show the positives. What is worse we oriyas have been fed so much by news of deaths and malnutrition and underdevelopment that we consider the positives to be unreal. Many of my oriya friends feel living in orissa is like living in a garbage can.But they r the ones who posesses the least knowledge about orissa. They would not know that the hirakud dam is the longest dam in the world. All this is because of the false allusions cast by others including the media.Even the history texts have no mention about kharavela or gopabandhu das.
Thus we need to make a difference.

Hi,
I've been checking up different blogs associated with orissa but one thing which i observed(correct me if i'm wrong) is the lack of a proper scientific discussion group on Orissa.
I believe it is time for us to have a blog where we can exchange different ideas. I will be creating a blog soon which will focus on these lines.
Hopefully this will lead to growth and exchange of scientific thought processes in Orissa.
Another observation I have is that most of the blogs seem to provide vent to criticisum and more criticisum. I would appreciate if we can be positive about blogging.
Thanks & Regards
Umesh

dear friends,
I am a journalsit working for ETV NEWS at bhubaneswar.when i went through some of the mails posted here i felt really glad that people actually finding time from their busy schedule to sending a few words on Orissa.
The friend who wants to put TALCHER on tourust map, along with doing other things can contact our corespondent jagdananda pradhan n infrom him about some of the places which can be telecast in ETV as samll features. Though by doing this talcher wont automatically come on tourist map , but it would generate awarness among potential tourists.
And I think our friend from copenhegen is quite overenthusiasit about investment prospects in orissa.
Its true that allmost 4 lakh crore have been proplsed to be invested in orissa- from largest single FDI by POSCO ( 55, 000cr), to 50 thousnd by mittal, 50 by ambani fr power plant, another thousnd by him fr hospital an university, 15 by vedanta fr an world calss university, 45 MOUs by govt on steel aN 4 on ALMUNIUM plnts, TATA setting up 6 budget hotels, one NRI group coming up with 2 5star hotels, many IT N ites Firms including big guns like INFOSYS, SATYAM, TCS n wipro.
But it will take time before the common man realises benifit of all these that also come with a caveat , a BIG IF, if only all of these proposed investments actually implemented.
I think of half of it comes it'l also change the scenario.
so lets hope thing would change fr a better in near future.

Dear friends,
we need your full supports for creation of a separate oriya state "KALINGA RAJYA" by carving our southern districts of orissa i.e Undivided Ganjam,Koraput and kondhamal.
It is long standing demand. The southern people of Orissa never directly rulled by Central Orissa Rullers as well as the rebellion unleased against britishers more then 100yrs.

Dear All
I am forwarding this letter with the hope and belief
of getting your support for the cause of compilation
of comprehensive directory of the Rulers of orissa and
vassals in allegiance to British/ Indian Princely
States e. g. Zamindars , by whatever name called in different parts
of Orissa.
This is aimed to encompass the basic data of the
State/ Estate (like situation, extent, population,
revenue, major achievements, palaces & forts, etc.), a
concise history of its establishment and development,
present encumbents and their clan affiliations and
relations.
This in turn requires the compilation of list, history
and genealogical tables of Rulers/ Jagirdars from the
respective Princely States, Land Revenue Records and
enactments like Oudh Estate Act 1869, etc.
I am in a process to approach all leading members of different
raja/zamindhar families to provide me with this information.
I am seeking your help to get me as many details/
contact information in respect of above Raja/zamindhar
families either by providing me the proper links of
the families or referring to the records.
since last 12 months , involving with Talcher princely state Raja to
renovate their palace 1880 builted in Talcher. And also collected
details of History
and genealogical tables of Talcher Rulers cultural heritage and
history of Talcher.
Now seriesly attempting to link Dhenkhanal,
talcher, boudh, bolangir, kalhandhi, Rampur palaces for international
Heritage & historical tourism.
