A trip to Nabarangpur,Orissa
-Gautam,
It was nice to get your mail. I appreciate your time and effort to spend at nabarangpur.com.You can go to Vishakhapatnam and get a train from there.I use to do like this way.Madrasto Vishakhapatnam – There is train at 9AM in Morning from Madras. It will reach evening. Then go to vizayanagaram and catch a bus from there.Or if you got to rail way station you will get a local taxi which they use for a trip on share basis. The best things I can suggest you to make you arrangement from Vishakhapatnam may be taxi or use some Govt. vehicle for on duty Still now I never have easy journey to nabarangpur .TO be frank Delhi to Raipur /Vishakhapatnam it took me 1 hrs and 20 minutes but from Vishakhapatnam/raipur to Nabaranogur it took me whole days. You mentally prepare that you will expect the unexpected things so that you can save your frustration. Take some Video game or fun books to read on the way ;) because most of your time goes on waiting here and there. Just keep remember following things
- Avoid to reach after 5PM from Vishakhapatnam or Vijayanagaram because what I know is there is very few bus facility after evening
- Go to Vijayanagaram and wait outside of railway station ,There is lots of chances that you will get a local car or jeep which goes to Jeypore
- If you traveling alone avoid lots of luggage because it would be your burden when you move from point A to Point B
- Do not act like a news person or stranger to nabarangpur town which you can avoid unnecessary happening.
- Do not try to make short cut like going half way by car and half way by other means. This might leads to you unnecessary waiting.
As I told above, these are from my personal experience. You might have little transport problem but you will enjoy the town. I always enjoyed nabarangpur weather after Bangalore or US. Do not forget to visit Bhandara Gharani Temple which is famous in the town. And also it is famous for CHAU work explode it more if you have interest.
You can visit official site for more information about the districts http://nabaranpgpur.nic.in
I tried to find the railway details (http://www.indianrail.gov.in/index.html) but no hope :(
Have a fun. I am sure you will enjoy. I just wanted let you know that most of the people are non-formal so please do not be surprise if somebody is not formal or loyal. We enjoyed the kinda what as it is :)
Thanks and Regards,
